Hello All,

Asian signals sounded very promising around my 1300 start time with good audio
from the Japanese and Korean big guns on 594, 693, 774, 972 and 1566. plus
moderate signals on 603, 657, 747, 828 and 1053. Unfortunately that seemed to
be the high point of the session, with the lack of any sunrise enhancement
boost causing most of these signals to sink down into the noise as daylight
increased.

Around 1300 Asian propagation seemed at least as good as it was at the start of
yesterday's above average session, with even greater variety. Besides the usual
regulars some interesting signals on 738, 936 and 1044 were coming out of the
noise, and on the high band 1503 and 1593 were joining 1566-HLAZ in audio.
These weaker Asians were the first to hit the skids around 1310, though, and by
1315 even the big guns were joining them. Only 972-HLCA and 1566-HLAZ had much
strength left by 1330, and both of those were erratic. On the low band
594-JOAK, 603-HLSA and 657-Pyongyang managed a few fair-level gasps around 1335
before sinking into the noise for good, but they were well below yesterday's
strength at the same time. The 1300 start time here seems to have been too late
the get the best Asian propagation for the morning, so if Nick and the other
SDR users can check the period from 1230-1300 they will probably be more than
satisfied with healthy Asian signals across the band. For a live DXer looking
for a sunrise enhancement boost, though, this morning's session was a serious
disappointment after yesterday's.
