Asian results here were slightly different from Dennis' report, but in general it was another Japanese and Korean big gun show, with most of them waiting until sunrise enhancement to sound very energetic. At my 1300 start time the band once again sounded dreary in the predawn darkness, with only 1566-HLAZ having much of a signal (fair on peaks). The NHK big guns all sounded anemic until around 1350, when the usual collection of Japanese on 594, 693, 747, 774 and 828 began to get a serious sunrise enhancement boost, rising up to good levels in and out. 1287-JOHR is on a pretty noisy frequency here, but it managed to join the other Japanese big guns with good peaks in and out after 1400, which is somewhat unusual here. 1566-HLAZ also hit good peaks around 1400, while 972-HLCA and the 1053-Jammer had their moments of fair audio. Other than these regulars the results were meager indeed, with only a few ghostly gasps on 1323, 1503 and 1575 after sunrise enhancement around 1405. Overall it was another lackluster session here, although the Victoria DXers (with their superior DU propagation) could see things quite differently. 73 and Good DX, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) 7.5" loopstick C.Crane Skywave Ultralight + 15" FSL antenna _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
