Colin and Nick's Victoria script played out here in Puyallup as well, as a halfhearted Asian recovery benefited somewhat from a sunrise enhancement boost around 1400. The big gun NHK stations came up to respectable levels, although the second tier Asians barely came out of the noise. As Colin descibed the Asians seemed to be back with some variety around 1300, with the usual Japanese on 594, 693, 747 and 828 managing some audio in the predawn darkness, and 1566-HLAZ actually sounding energetic. A typical October signal swoon then took over, and nothing really sounded very healthy until daylight broke just before 1400. 594-JOAK and 693-JOAB were the main beneficiaries, with the former reaching a very good level with NHK news at 1404. 747-JOIB, 972-HLCA, the 1053-Jammer and 1134-JOQR all managed fair audio around 1405, and both 603-HLSA and a presumed 657-Pyongyang came out of the noise to reach threshold audio. Nothing much changed for the next 15 minutes as these regulars continued to rise up and down in strength before bailing around 1430. The session was certainly an improvement over yesterday, although far from exciting. 594 JOAK Tokyo, Japan NHK news at very good level at 1404; best Asian signal of the session https://app.box.com/s/naioudkwo0ff3b2oq13vev7luahk9kdf 73 and Good DX, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) 7.5" loopstick C.Crane Skywave Ultralight + 15" FSL antenna _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
