Patrick, I hear your trepidation over heights. Have you considered alternate ways to launch wires to the apex? At my DX cottage in Masset, I have many trees 100' or more in height. No way I ever want to climb those. A couple of years ago, I bought a sling shot antenna launcher which has proven to be incredibly easy and useful in putting up several antennae high up in the trees.
