So that was 2PM in Port Macquarie.  I was thinking about that yesterday
when you uploaded the clip of a talk show with a label of 4KZ because
that marine weather (which was all I could make out) could've been from
2PM. 4KZ seems to be music, at least till midnight local (i.e. 1400 UT).   >>>

Yikes, Theo, you are absolutely right-- I've probably been spending too much
time freezing various parts of the body out on the Grayland beach around
sunrise!

The "talker" format with the call-in show matches 2PM, not 4KZ. The reason for
the mistake was that Bill W. and I both desperately tried to track down 2PM all
of last year, but never could do so. 4KZ was always around, so it kind of got
stuck in the mind as the "logical" 531 Aussie. The 531 MP3's from yesterday and
the day before are from 2PM, not 4KZ. As for why 4KZ was MIA until this
morning, who knows? Maybe they used the same antenna contractor that PI used a
year ago? :-)

OK, Theo, you asked for it! Here was 531-PI's signal before the antenna switch
in April of 2015, recorded at Rockwork 4 during the July 2014 DXpedition
(during which Chuck tracked down his 87 Kiwis). I'm extremely lucky that my
Ultralight radio's front end survived this blistering reception

was a mystery (Theo, are you there?).
Yeah, whaddaya want!

Um, well you've heard 531 More FM from Alexandra in the past but you say
this wasn't an outstanding NZ morning.  Was it music or talk?

Then didn't someone last year finally crack the talker on 531 by tracing
a telephone number to the NSW North Coast, and a business near Kempsey?

Oh, don't ferget SE Oz and NZ went back to standard time their Sunday
morning, 3 Apr.

Interesting that 531 PI is already performing for you, Mister Doubting
Thomas who blamed the co-siting of two more Aucklanders last year... <grin>
