Generally stations are not interested in reports from outside their
target area anyway. If the location of the web receiver is clearly
stated, there shouldn't be a problem. I seldom send reports these days,
but I have sent one a couple of times to Deutsche Wetterdienst,
Pinneberg using both my own receiver and reception evaluation about
signal and audio quality from half a dozen of Western European receivers
around North Sea (their target area) and they have been very grateful.

That's like Paul telling me he heard Oogudoogu on 4729 kHz and me sending the
reception report to the station with the details expecting the QSL.
WebSDR's are for spotting and research.

i know one dxer in particular, whos in SE Asia and uses the utwente sdr in
the netherlands to log stations and request qsl's from them.. often
requesting qsls from multiple shows on the same station. he does this on
aregular basis. i have a real problem with this. a remote sdr is ok to
check propigation conditions and casually listne, but nto actively dx.

I agree with Colin, unattended listening isn't real DX. I guess it's my
old age but I have a disdain for recording multiple frequencies
simultaneously, then trying to figure out what was received later.
