I think one has to take a couple of things into account here. First is that the majority of us on this list ( or any list for that matter ) don't know what DX is like from your location. Second is that some tend to apply their own "DX standards" to everyone else. Therefore there are always going to be those who doubt a reception.
Another factor is what details a DX'er provides. Not infrequently the way a DX'er words their report can open the door to doubters. And the first thing in that list is how reporting of a het is worded. At one time or another, probably most of us on this list have doubted others' logs or have been doubted ourselves. It comes with the territory. A DX'er has to establish their own criteria and to DX for themselves in that sense.
