Martin:
Where did you live in Michigan? I don't recall you reporting back when I was
EDXR editor and lived in Pot Huron.
I don't currently have access to my master log (because of Windows 10's
stubborn refusal to read files created in older file formats--help, anyone?)
but as I recall, I had WDEV-550 and WVMT-620 from VT and at least three RIs,
WPRO, WEAN-790 and WJAR-920, which was always the easiest of the three. Had at
least 3 from NH, WFEA-1370, (logged on a Monday morning w/WSPD off), WTSN, 1270
Dover (on SSS), and WHEB-750, from Portsmouth hrd. on s/off. I finally logged
WGAN, but for the longest time the only ME I had was WKTJ, 1380, Farmington
which ran a DX test for us, I think in 1969. Former IRCAan Jim Catterfeld (Bay
City) also logged WGAN, and I think Bruce Heimburger (my DX partner and former
EDXF editor) did as well.

New England was always easiest between 0400 and 0500 EST in April because most
of their stations either signed on or powered up during that hour and I was
able to log a number of GYs and a few daytimers, especially from MA ant CT.
Don't think I ever logged a VT GY though.

I think 1160 late afternoon is your best bet for Maine, that is if you
don't have a local to contend with from there.  Maybe early morning would
also work.  Jim Renfrew.
