----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Irish Fencing Forum
----------------------------------------------------------- From: DexterSin Message 5 in Discussion I find this whole question of identity really interesting, since I am still anonymous and some people seem to be after me. The reason that I haven't revealed my secret identity (mwah haha) is that HamsandwichKeith's responses to my messages seemed - to me - to be incredibly intolerant and unreasoning. Awesome_Marcos1 and Wawawanabe also seem to be more interested in persecuting people who mention 'hot-words', thereby setting off their prejudices (although to be fair, Awesome_Marcos1's last message was quite reasonable - he actually agreed with most of my ideas, which he had previously called "rubbish". Just goes to show, kiddies...read the whole message/exam paper/question before writing your answer). I have already apologised to HamsandwichKeith for getting annoyed with him, and I hope that he does the same. Nasty, personal arguments benefit no-one. What I suggest is that people attempt to restrain their initial impulse to murder - in writing - anyone who posts an unwelcome or challenging message, especially if they are trying to make a serious point. Instead, it would be more useful to post a serious, well-reasoned response, avoiding the use of obscenities in an offensive (as opposed to a friendly) way. It is a much more effective way of showing that you disagree than telling someone what an "asshole" they are, which just causes even more offence. Finally, to return to the original topic of identity - I am NOT Davethebastard! He's just trying to pin his crimes on me - personally, I suspect that it's Captain_Owen. He started the whole argument on the AGM string, and now he's hoping to get clean away while I burn! Seriously though, the whole idea of trying to find out the identity of users who post messages that some may find unwelcome is very disturbing, and is a good reason for remaining anonymous. Witch hunt? We all know what they were about... ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/IrishFencingForum/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
