Hi,

cras and I spoke briefley on #irssi, opn, about vi mode for irssi. I thought i'd
sketch out some ideas here so they dont get lost.

* command/insert mode. *everything* gets sent to channel/query/whatever when in insert
mode, unless you press escape to go back to command mode. This makes /commands the
equivalent of :ex commands. i currently have cmdchars set to ":", but i want to be
able to toggle between insert and command mode too. pasting /'s, :'s etc will not be a
problem with this. (set vimode)

* inline commands, like d$, dw, x, r etc for editing the command line (set viediting)

* cursor movement with h,j,k,l (set vicursors) - just personal choice, really. it'd be
nice. would only be applicable when using vimode and having pressed escape for command
mode :) ^ for start of line, $ for end... especially useful if you are using some
wierd terminal with broken arrow keys (yes, i irc from a serial terminal, hp-ux
console and a minix handheld :)

I think that's all for now, just wanted to get those written down somewhere. Comments
welcome, although i dont have time to join irssi development as activley as I would
like to :/
