i think theres definitely a place for a decent gui for IRSSI, so long as you are not
just going to make another mediocre knockoff of the Xchat/mIRC paradigm. i mean
something that preserves the existing windowing, but allows you to left click on a
nick or channel in the window to instantly join/query, while right click would present
a menu of options like, /who $channel, /whois $nick, ctcp stuff etc...plus perhaps a
small button bar near the bottom or side for next/previous window/channel etc, and
drag'n'drop support for file dcc'ing right onto niccks etc, and of course one click
url-opening. i really hate traditional gui clients because of how they seperate each
channel into its own tab and have ridiculously convoluted preference setting windows
and other annoying crap but irssi could definitely benefit in many ways from direct
mouse access to all elements of its text interface...
