I have already suggested a few months back,
to only allow valid UNSW email addresses into the mailing list,
to enhance security as well as ensuring that senders will be acting more responsible.
(I once received a threaten mail from this "civilize" forum that has invalid email address.)
Seem like this is not a priority for them.   :)

Subject: suggestion for is-noticeboard

Hi

It's shocking to see over 200 emails, a large proportion of which are 'hoax' advertising mails. I found the original advertising by "Mun Yi" (sorry if not correct name) rather annoying but still tolerable. But the subsequent bickerings and email floodings from various parties are getting too much.

Plus, "John Needo" (or whoever he/she really is) is excessively childish & vindictive.

It seems that anyone at all who knows just about enough on how to subscribe, can post any message/s to their hearts' content.

My suggestion is to only allow valid UNSW email addresses to be subscribed to the "notice-board" and/or "discussion mailing list" (eg [EMAIL PROTECTED], etc...).

thanks,
Lusi
