Dear friends,
I wish you all a happy new year.
As we celebrate the coming of the new year, we need to
recognize and acknowledge the suffering that many
South Asians are experiencing as a result of the
Tsunami disaster.
Canadian Arab Federation needs to accept its
responsibility as a citizen of the world and take a
leadership position in participating in the ongoing
aid mission.
I just spoke with CAF activists in Montreal and we
agreed that we should put forth a small donation.
Montreal folks are aiming for at least $1,000 and I
think CAF Toronto should also pledge at least another
$1,000 (a small amount).
All it will take is 10 people pledging a $100 each or
20 people $50 each. I look forward to your support and
donation. CAF needs to be active in supporting
humanitarian causes to reflect our true commitment to
humanity.
Please let me know if you are interested in
participating. I pledge $100 myself. If so, please
send your cheque payable to CAF and confirm with me.
