Assalamu alaikum,
Unfortunately, they did not choose a knowledgeable Muslim to discuss what happens during and after death. This was a great opportunity to tell people what happens on the death bed.
The Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa salam told us exactly what happens to a good and bad soul.
As a good sould is about to leave the world, it is greeted by good-looking angels with a shroud and hanout from heaven. They give him glad tidings and his sould comes out gently. He is taken up and the gates of skies open and in each level the angels ask, "Who is this sweet smelling soul? and they will say it is so and so the son of so and so.........Then he will be shown his place in heaven, and his place in hellfire had he chosen kufr and disobedience. Then his sould is brought back to his body and his grave is made nice and wide for him.
The opposite happens to the disbeliever.

The conditions of going to heaven is Islam: Saying La Illaha Illa Allah.

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Allah, if Allah guides one person by you, it is better for you than the best types of camels." [al-Bukhaaree, Muslim]
The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also said, "Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all."
