Asalamu'alaikum, The following message comes from the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati. Please be generous for the sake of our brothers and sisters who are suffering.   Karen J. Our mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.     As many of you are aware, the recent earthquake in South and Central Asia has left tens of thousands of people dead and injured; millions are left homeless and hungry. Victims are in desperate need of life-saving supplies, shelter, warmth, food, medicine and surgical help.  A local group of concerned community members in Greater Cincinnati are currently coordinating a drive for medical supplies & winter clothing, along with an upcoming fundraising dinner (11/22/05), and other fundraising efforts.    We urge you to donate as much as you can monetarily.  (Donations can also be given at any 5/3 bank to the “Islamic Center Pakistan Earthquake Fund”.)  In addition, a list of urgently needed supplies is provided below.  Reliable local agencies are updating this list (found below) several times a day, so we will continue to inform you of any updates.  Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has generously agreed to ship any needed supplies from the US to the disaster affected areas in Pakistan for free.  The shipments will be sent to the Prime Minister's Earthquake Relief Center, where qualified officials will distribute the goods.   All you have to do is donate all that you can from the list, as quickly as possible.    We will be collecting these goods at the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati at both the West Chester and Clifton locations Sunday, 10/16.  Please donate all you can, as much as you can, as quickly as you can .
