MB Calls On Muslims To Stand Up To Any Sectarian Sedition

In an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb, Chairman of Muslim Brotherhood Mohamed Mahdi Akef expressed his rejection of the Pope’s remarks in form and content. However, the MB Chairman called on Muslims to stop any acts which could lead to sectarian sedition between Muslims and Christians” Striking is that the sedition this time is being fomented by a Christian symbol who was supposed to prevent such sedition let alone to steer clear from orchestrating such a sedition. The MB Chairman praised the Muslims governments and peoples for their positive reactions to the Pope’s statements , regarding such reactions as essential so that such insults do not recur in the future. “ The Pope’s statements are at best an evidence of his ignorance of Islam as a religion and Muslims as a nation with a uniquely great history”, the Chairman said, expressing his concern that such statements could be fathomed by the majority of Muslims as an evidence that the Vatican has come to ally with the evil powers in the world led by the Israeli American alliance against the Arab and Muslim worlds, nay, against all that is human. “ As Muslims, our religion enjoins us to be tolerant and kind to others, in accordance with the Koran teachings which provide that God has created people and made them peoples and tribes with different languages, religions and ethnicities so that they need to know each, which in turn help integrate them into one human community”, the chairman said. In spite of the Pope’s offending remarks against Islam and Muslims, the Chairman expressed his hope that Muslims and Christians turn over a new leaf in their  relations, calling on Muslims to set a good example as far as tolerance and coexistence are concerned, either the Pope apologizes or not.
