Ikhwanweb - Cairo, Egypt
Sunday, October 08, 2006

While the Muslim world’s anger hasn’t yet abated against the background of the Pope of Vatican’s offensive statements against Islam and its prophet,  Certain sectors in Western media once again resumed its fierce campaign against Islam, the recent of which was yesterday Friday October 6, 2006, when an organization affiliated to one of the Danish ruling coalition government, the Danish People’s Party, displayed video footage offending the prophet and portraying him in an indecent position.

The Muslim Brotherhood released a statement the following day saying that ” Muslims still come under heated vulgar words said and portraits displayed by a party in the Danish coalition government, displaying stills of video footage offending the world’s most honorable man, Prophet Mohammed PBUH” The statement added that the recurrence of such irresponsible acts shows how deep hatred the West harbors against Islam and prophet and Muslims “This is a tip of the iceberg”, the statement read, adding that this bitter hostility shows  sectors in the  West’s deep hatred of justice, right and all good virtues enshrined in the religion of Islam.

“ It seems that the mushrooming spread of Islam in the world in general and in the West in particular prompted some to launch a campaign to mar the image of Islam and hold people back from embracing it, capitalizing on the anger reactions of Muslims toward such insults ” , the statement said.

The statement called on Muslims, peoples and governments, to express their anger toward these prophet offending shows, underlying practical steps which Muslims should stick to, as follows:

1- Boycott of all states which allow such offensives.

2- Use of all peaceful means to express the anger of the Muslim man of street including demonstrations and protest messages and so on.

3- Exertion of utmost efforts to let people know about the Call of Islam and its prophet, to stand up against those who try to mar his image.

4-  Calling on Muslim governments and organizations to urge international establishments to issue covenants bringing to justice those who mar the sanctified image of heavenly religions.

Dr. Habib: It Is Part of a series of Anti Islam Campaign

In an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb, MB First Deputy Chairman Dr.Moahmed Habib commented on the recent prophet offending shows by saying that it is a campaign aiming to mar the image of Islam and its prophet worldwide.

Dr. Habib accused the US of spearheading this campaign, adding that it has cashed in on the September events using all its economic, media and military means in this campaign and exploiting the ignorance of the Western people of the reality of Islam to hold them back from recognizing let alone to embracing it.

It is to be noted that the Friday show displayed by a Danish organization came four days after the Norwegian TV on Monday October 2, 2006, while displaying a documentary on the same issue, aired caricatures offending Prophet Mohammed.

The show was followed by a meeting with a Norwegian Christian magazine in which the chief editor said that he didn’t  have to apologize for the caricatures, adding  that this came within the context of freedom of _expression in Norway and that he didn’t mean to offend Muslims or their religion.
