ABOUT HINDUTVA Hindutva is not Hinduism, it is Fascism. Hinduism is peaceful, pluralistic and embraces diversity, but Hindutva has a hidden agenda towards the marginalized. Hindutva's slogan 'one nation, one culture, one religion, one language' is similar to the Nazi slogan 'Ein volk, ein Reich, ein Fuehrer' (one people, one state, one leader). The distinction between Hindutva and Hinduism must be clear. Unlike Hinduism, Hindutva is an ideology of violence and a not merely a movement that happens to employ violence, so as an ideology of violence, it needs a hate-object to keep itself alive, and must express itself through aggression and vandalism. Hindutva organizations are based on racial superiority of high caste Hindus and have the sole aim to purge (ethnically cleanse) India of religious minorities such as Muslims, Christians and other groups. Many in these organizations take Adolf Hitler as their hero. These organizations endlessly spread hate against religious minorities and low castes, reminiscent to those of Nazi Germany in order to manipulate events and to incite the majority mob to bring about large-scale destruction to lives and properties of the minorities and powerless in India. For a long time these organizations have had their sympathizers in the administrative and the law & order branches of the government machinery throughout India. In the last two decades these racist organizations have been gaining mainstream political power as influence of Gandhi and Nehru era has waned. The Hindutva-Fascist agenda, calls for Indian Muslims to either leave Islam or leave India. The idea is that non-Hindus should 'submit' to the will of the Hindus and the assertion that muslims and other minorities 'must adjust' to the Hindus and 'hope for the goodwill of the majority' to live in peace - that is the core of the Hindutva problem. The Hindutva-Fascist groups like the VHP (a.k.a World Hindu Council in the U.S.) and Bajrang Dal have a history of violence and intimidation against Muslims and other religious minorities in India. They were also responsible for burning alive of Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two kids, in January, 1999 and the rape of several nuns. Hindutva groups such as the World Hindu Council and India Development Relief Fund (IDRF) in United States are involved in raising funds for these extremist Hindu organizations in India, and thus fuel the violence. Through repeated lies these groups are able to infiltrate the minds of the vast majority of Hindus in India and U.S. and demonizing Muslims and other minorities. Human nature is susceptible to the Hitler Maxim of "Tell a lie enough times so it becomes the truth". The recent pogroms in the Indian state of Gujarat have underscored an urgent need for worldwide intervention into human rights abuses in India. These abuses have been systematically and continuously executed by Hindutva racist organizations such as RSS, VHP and others for a long time. The premeditated violence perpetrated by these groups clearly fit the State Department definition of terrorism, which is “premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents, usually intended to influence an audience.” The US as the only super power and principal signatory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Charter, has the moral and ethical responsibility to promote peace and equality and respect of human rights and religious freedom for the oppressed minorities in India. It is imperative that these groups immediately be placed on the State Department list of terrorist organizations.
