*RSS-ABVP worker held for making threatening phone* KOZHIKODE: A 17-year-old
RSS-ABVP worker, who reportedly made a threatening phone call that vital
installations in Kerala,* including the Kochi Naval Base, would be blasted
before August 15, *was arrested yesterday, a top police official said.

`*The ABVP worker, identified as Thejas,has* been picked up from Avla in
Perambra near here yesterday afternoon after tracing his mobile phone
numberfrom which he had allegedly made the call to a news photographer
in
Thiruvananthapuram on July 25', Police Commissioner Anoop Kuruvilla

Thejas had reportedly given a miss call to `Telegraph' photographer Biju
around 9 pm on July 25 claiming that vital destinations in the state would
be bombarded before the Independence Day.

On returning the call, Biju was told by the caller that his (Biju's) house
would also be targeted if he informed the police about the matter.

However, Biju informed the police about the conversation immediately and the
Kozhikode police were alerted after tracing the mobile phone number.

Thejas would be taken to Thiruvananthapuram for further interrogation, the
police official said.

*Two held in connection with hoax calls*

Kozhikode: The city police arrested two youths on Tuesday on charges of
conspiring and making a hoax call to a tyre-selling shop at Eranhipalam here
on Monday, threatening that the firm will be blasted with explosives.

Police nabbed* S. Sangeeth, 28, and K. Sunil, 28, *friends, based on a
complaint submitted by the manager of the shop to the Police Commissioner.
The police traced the call to a coin-operated phone at Mananchira.

The police said Sunil was employed at the shop and was not in good terms
with the manager.

They were charged under Section 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous
communication).
