Besides
caching procedure I would like to make a request, if you could evaluate the
possibility of free mirroring of our website on all ISP Servers of Pakistan.
This procedure may require some motivational words from you to all ISP owners.
The site requires mirroring from now till 30 October 2001. The technicalities of
this procedure can be further worked out by a joint effort by all of
us.

I am sure you are fine. I am bothering you for some support and your valuable suggestion on the issue forwarded to you by Minister of IT. As a matter of fact I had a detail discussion with the Minister on this. Later he sent this letter to be circulated to all ISPs of Pakistan. Inspite of this letter we are still facing the problem of Caching of our Official Website www.safgames2001.com being hosted at COMSATS Server in Islamabad. You would appreciate that 9th SAF Games is being held
with extra ordinary emphasis on IT. We in the Organizing Committee are making
all out efforts to make it a land mark in IT filed of Pakistan. Projection of
Pakistan as rapidly growing IT country is our one of the important
motive.
This website which will be converted
into REAL time website during the games with full audio and video streaming, is
going to play a major roll in this effort of projection of Pakistan. This
website is planned to contain besides few of our management system, a unique
feature of Ceremonies Tickets sale. This is the first time in Pakistan that we
shall have this experience.
I understand that our basic infrastructure
of Communications is not yet fully geared up for such a venture. But still we
can do a lot with the help of each other. The purpose of this premise is that
the caching by ISPs of Pakistan is an issue due to which our visitors on the
website are facing lots of difficulties on updation and viewing the site
regularly. Besides caching procedure I would like to make a request, if you
could evaluate the possibility of free mirroring of our website on all ISP
Servers of Pakistan. This procedure may require some motivational words from you
to all ISP owners. The site requires mirroring from now till 30 October 2001.
The technicalities of this procedure can be further worked out by a joint effort
by all of us.
I shall be looking forward to an encouraging and
befitting response.
Thanks Lieutenant Colonel Hammad Khalid Director IT, 9th SAF Games Secretariat, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. Telephone : Office: 051-9210036 Res 051-4435848 Mobile: 0333-5114674 |
