Where is Paknet????.....Chairman PTA is in Lahore today and discussing the same matter with ISPs. They "PTA" should focus to crack down the voice termination in the country which is affecting PTCL revenue at large and not Net2Phone, dialpad etc. which generates only additional vocie traffic. I think we should jointly approach Ministry as address this matter. Pl. suggest.

Dear Members of ISPAK
 
 With reference to notices of PTA (Regional office) sent to ISPs to block VOIP web sites and providing them an complementary Internet connection.
 
ISPAK has received a list of ISPs, that provided the internet connections & blocked VOIP web sites.
PTA is pushing hard to block web sites and providing them to internet connection.
 
PTA Regional Office have given us additional one weak to comply. Therefore it is requested to provide an internet connection with blocking of VOIP websites before Monday, October 8, 2001 to avoid any future inconvenience.
 
 
The following ISPs have already provided the Internet Connections but some of them not yet blocked the VOIP web sites ( http://www.net2phone.com , http://www.dialpad.com , http://www.hottelephone.com  etc)

Subject: MONITORING OF UNAUTHORIZED / ILLEGAL SITES OF THE ISP
 
In pursuance of clause: 5.1 of the license, the undersigned has been directed by the Authority to obtain complementary connection form all ISP's for monitoring purposes to confirm that the website leading to Internet telephony are blocked.
 
All the ISP's are therefore directed to provide complementary internet connection to the PTA Regional Office, Karachi at the earliest . Moreover all the ISP's directed to ensure that voice communication using Net2phone or any other prepaid card/equipment is not established through Internet and the same will be periodically checked by License Enforcement wing through these complementary connections.
