MINUTES
OF MEETING
A meeting was held between
the PTA Chairman, Gen. Shahzada Alam, DG Licensing, Mr. Vohra with ISPAK
delegation in the conference room of the Cyber Net, Karachi at 1600 hrs on
9th January 2002. ISPAK had taken up three
points agenda. 1.
Royalty should be minus the expenses on PTCL services as
mentioned on early Licenses. 2.
Quality of
Service that is ISPs could only
provide as good service as PTCL offers. We brought to the notice that we could
only improve the bandwidth ratio with the Numbers of ports with Number of
Clients. However, had telephone lines or interruptions etc and many other
related problems could only be solved by improving PTCL services. 3.
The Content Filtering for
moral as well as for Voice Over IP was an issue, which should be left, as
unfiltered as many of the Internet products have become voice
interactive. About the Quality of Service, his newly appointed staff agreed with us but Mr. Vohra was of the opinion that PTCL could not be corrected one such a long time therefore expecting it to change now was not right. We informed him that ISPs could do only what they can. On the issue of Filtering
the Content also the DG wanted to check up with the PTCL and only them give the
ruling at Islamabad proposed meeting.
