Brian,
How many ports are you scanning? There is an advanced tab for Portscan
that sets howmany ports must be hit before the alert is sent. Also have you
customized the policy at all and turned on any filters?

Hi
The engine is sitting in between the router and the firewall and the
connection is through a hub.The engine got no problem picking up other
activities like SYN Flood but it just won't pick up the port scanning
activities.The policy install is maximum coverage.
