The message indicates another console ('hostname') has obtained Master
Controller status. This is granted by the sensors on a first-come,
first-served basis. If you want your console to be the designated Master
Controller, you will need to go to the 'hostname' console and relinquish the
Master Controller status, then go back to your console and re-add the
network engine. If you are only monitoring the engine, and not making any
configuration changes, you shouldn't need Master Controller status.

Subject: Changing Master Console Monitor

I am new to RS, but assigned the task to monitor our network engine. I
installed RS Console ver. 3.2.1999.336 on an NT Workstation. I can monitor
our detector, but I seem to be in a "view only" mode. If I try to "Set
console as master controller", I get the RS dialogue box that says, "Master
request failed. Master assigned to `hostname`". How can I change the
assigned master controller to be my computer?
Thanks for your help,
Greg
