Sorry...we tried this one. I've had a trouble ticket open since Nov 13th
(473787) and the support guys went through all the obvious things with me.
Rigth now, I am just looking for any other experience of a similar problem.
Maybe it will lead us in the rigth direction. Please do not hesitate if you
have any other thoughts...

Hi,

Make sure the XPU has a .xpu extension and no .zip (if Winzip is installed,
Windows 2000 will detect the XPU as a compressed file and save it as a .zip
file).

Also, do not keep the XPUs in the /updates directory.

Cheers,

Brian

I would like to know if anyone have a similar problem and how you solved it.

I just deployed version 6 on Sol8 sensors. They report back to WIN2K Pro
Event Collector (standalone). I also have a WIN2K Pro Master Console and
finally a WIN2K server Database (both enterprise and asset) running with
SQL2000 server.

To install an XPU, here's what I do:

1) select the sensor and right clic on it
2) select Xpress update
3) select the location of the XPU file (I copied it on local drive) and
clic NEXT
4) select the update from the "available updates" window and install
update...clic NEXT
5) There I immediatly get "Cannot find the specified file ID=2"

I am logged as Administrator on the console. It CAN talk to the sensor (can
apply policies and responses) on port 2998. I tried all I can think of...

thanks in advance...
