Well, I've been hit by the problem once. Got that message of unsuccessful upgrade, went to the logs and realized it was the issdaemon.exe.
Interesting thing, I didn't touch the file: just rebooted the machine and re-applied the SR. All went OK then... The magic of the reboot!
