Hi All!

The administrator who was previously responsible for ISS has recently
been provided the opportunity to persue his career somewhere else. As a
result, I have been handed the task of administering ISS. One problem is
that I know what ISS is, but that's about where my knowledge stops.

In the /var/adm/message file (Solaris 8) on a number of machines, we
have entries like this:

issDaemon[225]: [ID 376807 daemon.error] Access Denied: User nts-app-21
is not in the role KeyAdministrator.

I have checked the iss.access file and found this:

\Roles\KeyAdministrator\nts-app-21_administrator\];

Looking through forum archives I found other people with the same error,
but it always in the form computer_username. In my case only the
computer name is being listed. Is that the problem? Could it be that the
user account was not correct setup up on the management station? Do I
need to change the iss.access.

I would be extremely greatful for any assistance any one can provide.

Regards,

Jim Mohr
