Hi All!

Well, I still have not gotten the Manual upgrader to work, but I think I have
downloaded all of the necesary XPUs. Now, I have have another area where the
frustration factor is going through the ceiling.

There is a KN article that says "Both the .xpu and .ini files are required to apply
and XPU. Please make sure you have downloaded both files and they are in the same
directory." and another which says "As with the RealSecure updates, some of these
XPU's have .ini files associated with them."

Well, I cannot find a single XPU that has a .ini-File. On the ISS I click on a link
that gets me to "Site Protector XPUs Downloads for Existing Customers". If I do a
search on '.ini' I find nothing. That is, not a single file that contains ".ini" in
its name. This includes the DB XPU. So, the logical assumption is that there are no
ini-Files. Right? I find ini-Files for the server sensor, but not for the Site
Protector core or database.

I have copied 4 XML files in F:\Programme\ISS\RealSecure SiteProtector\Application
Server\XPU:
XPU_1_5.xml
XPU_2_0.xml
XPU_2_12.xml
XPU_2_2.xml

Then I copied a whole load of XPU files into F:\Programme\ISS\RealSecure
SiteProtector\Application Server\XPU\update\Site_Protector, deleting the .zip ending.

So I would think that I have what is needed. So, I go into the sensors and right-click
the SiteProtector Database, then "Apply Update". After clicking through the forms, I
get to a place that lists all of the DB XPUS from 17 up to 34 (we currently have XPU
16). This says "Ready to install the following updates."

After A while I get the following messages:

IssdkXPUManager returned error downloading file
update\Site_Protector\SPDB_XPU_20031001.xpu.Error encountered or unable to send an
HTTP request to the server.
[ID=0xc7330018]
0% downloaded - update\Site_Protector\SPDB_XPU_20031001.xpu
Downloading update file update\Site_Protector\SPDB_XPU_20031001.xpu for SiteProtector
Database Update (XPU 33)
Update file update\Site_Protector\SPDB_XPU_20031016.xpu has already been downloaded,
no need to download.

Which server? Is it trying to download the XPUs from the IIS Server? Wasn't that the
reason for copying the files manually. Either I am missing some files (although
SPDB_XPU_20031016.xpu seems to be where it is supposed to be), I need to configure it
somewhere as to force it to *not* go out to the Internet, I am missing a step
somewhere, or this is not working the way it is described.

I have read through several different KB articles that all talk about manual updates,
but many talk about SP version 1 and things are different from the way they are
described in the KB article. So, I am not sure if I am missing a step.

Any help is greatly appreaciated.

Regards,

Jim Mohr
