It'd be good to do this to reduce the number of code paths. Pread support was
added because hedge reads currently requires it, but we don't know of any
reason we can't just use preads regardless of whether hdfs hedge reads are
enabled. Though we should look at HDFS-3246 / HDFS-3681.
