The AMQP protocol is to dissimilar to the model expressed in STOMP and OpenWire 
to just bolt it onto the client code of ActiveMQ-CPP let alone the bloat that 
yet another protocol would put into the libraries that are built.  STOMP is 
similar to OpenWire in enough ways that you can map it into the current client 
code without a ton of work although at this point the STOMP support in 
ActiveMQ-CPP is unmaintained and should probably also be pulled out.
