Christoph Läubrich commented on ARTEMIS-3101:
---------------------------------------------

[~jbertram] what is the recommended IDE to develop Artemis? If eclipse is not
suitable and no one actually uses it maybe this should be documented in the
contribution guide and predefined formatter might be removed completely?
I'll check if I can find my changes to the formatted anyway as if I remember
right I have adjusted them to at least follow most enforced rules. Its just a
mess to format files by hand if rules are not supported by the auto-format.

> Java formating rules does not comply with checkstyle

> I copied files according to:
> but it seems the files are out of date. Eclipse (2020-12) complains on save
> about invalid properties in cleanup and formatting rules. Beside that, not
> all whitespace rules are applied correctly (e.g. lamdas and array
> initializes) so checkstyle gets mad and one has to correct whitespaces by
> hand.
