Description: There are a number of management methods, core API methods &
classes, configuration elements, and core SPI methods & classes that should
removed from the code-base. Everything removed needs to be documented and put
into the release notes or perhaps into a migration guide to help users make the
transition from 2.x to 3.x. (was: There are a number of management methods,
