Stephane Nicoll commented on ARTEMIS-4975:
------------------------------------------
> is there a compelling reason to use Java 23? We just moved to Java 17 in the
> most recent release.
If Artemis was only a standalone solution, I could, maybe, understand your
point. But it's also an embedded broker that one can use for integration tests.
Supporting recent Java versions look very important to me. Users should not
restrict to Java 17 just because that's the target you aim at for standalone
deployment.
Spring-based projects have those tests disabled in CI because the embedded
broker breaks. As for your suggestion, I can assume it doesn't apply to the
embedded broker and we'd rather not change a JVM settings just for that one
test.

> With the Security Manager being disallowed by default, it looks like
> https://bugs.openjdk.org/browse/JDK-8327134 is relevant.
> Let me know if a reproducer is necessary but I found out running Spring
> Boot's test suite with Java 23 so it should be pretty straightforward to
> reproduce.
