Jean-Baptiste Onofré commented on AMQ-9751:
-------------------------------------------
There are several reasons why messages are not consumed: redelivery, poisonous
ack, ...
Maybe we can find some details in the log.
> Persistent 2-hour message consumption delays requiring broker restarts to
> recover

> Issue Type: Bug
> Affects Versions: 5.18.4

> Priority: Minor

> Facing a recurring issue in a prod environment involving slow consumers on a
> VirtualTopic that requires frequent restarts to recover.
> Issue behavior:
> - Messages taking significant time to be consumed (up to 2 hours delay).
> - Consumer stops receiving messages intermittently.
> - Restarting broker restores traffic for only ~20–30 minutes.
> - Not reproducible in test environment.
> Network of brokers issue:
> - Messages are stuck on Broker A, while a valid consumer exists on Broker B.
> - No queue network connector between them, so messages are not forwarded.
> - This breaks the expected behavior of a mesh network with VirtualTopic
> subscriptions.
>
> Questions/Request:
> - Why would messages on a VirtualTopic not be forwarded across brokers with
> active consumers?
> - Could SSL or auth issues indirectly impact queue forwarding or consumer
> dispatch?
> - Trying to figure out the root cause of this issue: What is causing the
> delay in message consumption?
