Made some fixes in trunk -r805736 with the following changes:
* optimize index after updating and before packaging
* added test case (search artifacts from packaged index)
After adding the above fix, I'm able to browse everything in the index from
m2eclipse. I'll deploy a new snapshot so you could verify it as well. Thanks!
