1. leave the separate task and try to publish the test results

Either is fine by me. We just have to make sure that the IT you add here is
successfully running in at least one active post-commit test suite and we can
detect/track failures. Based on what you said, seems like it'll be running in
"Python 3.8 PostCommit".
