Resolution: Won't Fix
Wouldn't mind removing it, but the final method called, readDirectory, is still
returning a value. The methods updated are private, but if later we need to use
that value from the leaf-method readDirectory, then we would have to
re-introduce it. Since it's not affecting end-users, I think it's safe to leave
as-is.
