This is likely caused by this PR
[https://github.com/apache/commons-daemon/pull/64] but I don't see any obvious
cause.
I can't repeat this issue with Tomcat - my default test application for any
Daemon issue.
Please provide the simplest possible test case that demonstrates this issue.
