@garydgregory I prepared the multi-module 2.x approach you outlined as #544: a generated `commons-dbcp2-jakarta` module, with `commons-dbcp2` staying binary compatible. This PR is rebased on master as the alternative, an in-place migration to `jakarta.transaction`.
