Aryan Ganjoo created DAEMON-479:
-----------------------------------

Summary: jsvc -check rejects wrapped @ClassName services that
load() accepts
                 Key: DAEMON-479
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DAEMON-479
             Project: Commons Daemon
          Issue Type: Bug
            Reporter: Aryan Ganjoo

jsvc accepts @ClassName for an ordinary application: DaemonLoader.load() strips
the @ prefix and runs the class through DaemonWrapper. The sample
SimpleApplication.sh uses this form. However, `jsvc -check @ClassName` forwards
the same string to DaemonLoader.check(), which currently tries to load a class
literally named @ClassName and returns false (the native command exits
unsuccessfully).

Expected: -check accepts a valid wrapped application class, just as the load
path does. Actual: it fails before the service is started.

A local Java regression test exercises the public DaemonLoader.check() API for
valid and missing wrapped classes; the two focused tests pass with a proposed
fix, and `mvn -q verify` passed locally. I have not built or run native jsvc
end-to-end for this report. The patch is not yet public.
