Daniel,

Keep in mind that somewhere down the road you will be asking a committer to 
commit your patches to the project. That committer might have concerns about 
your patch and they might offer you advice. If your response to that 
committer's analysis is to wave them off and send them to another forum, then 
it is unlikely your patch will get committed.
