Magnus Axelsson commented on VFS-182: ------------------------------------- This is not possible in VFS. That's why I suggested a patch. If I remember correctly it's the following statement that turns on binary mode (ascii i default in ftp): client.setFileType(FTP.BINARY_FILE_TYPE) You need to modify the source and remove that statement before you connect. Good Luck! > Usage of FTP with heterogene FTP server (possibility of using Ascii file type) > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > Key: VFS-182 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/VFS-182 > Project: Commons VFS > Issue Type: Improvement > Environment: Mainframe BULL GCOS8 > Reporter: Christian Bastin > Attachments: vfs-182_allow_ascii_file_type.diff > > > Using VFS with ftpServer on Mainframe Bull. I need the posibility to set the > file type to Ascii.
