I'm making some progress.
With the test problems provided by Powell in his Fortran, the Java does go
through the relevant lines - but the behaviour between Java and Fortran is
different, so I think it will be good to trace in both cases the paths.
Just checking the fact that branches are covered in tests is not enough - they
have to be covered in the same way in the same order for Fortran and Java.
Not sure what nationality you are, ever seen the sketch by Morecombe and Wise
and Andre Previn?
