Thanks [~bodewig], I did ran the code with the snapshot version jar you 
provided. I got only one line log in the console and is as below:

Can you make anything out of this?

And coming to trying combination of compress and java.util classes. As of now 
i'm not been much of success with common-compress with ZipFile (java.util) and 
ZipFile(common-compress) with GZIPInputStream ( java.util)

Any workaround with stream of zip file to deal with this kind of issues?
