Jason - can you spell out what device & OS you're seeing this on?

Can you also verify whether it's an EOFException you're seeing in your logs.

Would it also be possible to let us know what server you're uploading to that 
will reproduce this? 

To debug this, I'd need to be able to write an app with a giant button that 
performs a FileTransfer of a small file to your server. There definitely was a 
bug fixed in 2.8, so it could be that this issue has multiple things going on.
