You mean this line?

StatusBarBackgroundColor (color hex string, no default value). On iOS 7, set 
the background color of the statusbar by a hex string (#RRGGBB) at startup. If 
this value is not set, the background color will be transparent.

Anyway, I think the problem is that the statusbar is transparent, but if you 
use StatusBarOverlaysWebView = false the webview is pushed down so it isn't 
overlayed by the statusbar, and the view below the statusbar is white, so you 
think the statusbar is white, but it isn't
