When imported in OOo, than you'll see the "http://..."; and not the pictures you've seen in the WordDoc. I do it this way.... because its better when the documents are big. I would say 20 pictures and your Document is maybe 2 MB big... with linked pictures you're document is slim and you can work perfectly! Not with a 2 MB and more Document.
