Please see https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-2223. This fix is
meant to be in temporarily until the right fix is agreed upon and implemented
in Calcite. Please let me know if you have concerns about the fix - I will make
the rest of the changes if we first agree to do the temporary fix in Drill.
