With the request that build Parquet with more than 1 Fragment, if you add an
UNION on empty string ('') you get an error

CREATE TABLE ....`bug` AS
((SELECT CAST(NULL AS VARCHAR) AS demo
,md5(CAST(rand() AS VARCHAR)) AS jam
FROM ....`onebigfile` LIMIT 1000000)
UNION
(SELECT CAST(NULL AS VARCHAR) AS demo
,md5(CAST(rand() AS VARCHAR)) AS jam
FROM ....`onebigfile` LIMIT 1000000)
UNION
(SELECT CAST('' AS VARCHAR) AS demo, 'jam' AS jam FROM (VALUES(1)))
);
=>
Error: SYSTEM ERROR: NumberFormatException:
