Can you attach the Explain plan for your failing query ?
Copying [~mehant]: Mehant, the fix for DRILL-1663 adds a cast for the hash
functions on the build or probe side of the hash table. The comment there says
we don't need to do it for comparator functions but this issue seems to hit
that condition based on the stack trace. It looks like we don't have a
comparator for varchar to bigint ?
Separately, it is not clear why employee_id is being treated as bigint on one
side of the join and varchar on the other; i wonder if this can be recreated
with other data sources.
